HOTY'24

Meet the new HOTY Chair Rob Perkins

Rob Perkins whom many on last year’s HOTY committee will know for his significant contributions, has agreed to Chair the 2024 HOTY Committee. Rob replaces Peter Wilson who is stepping down after many years at the helm.

Rob brings to the role a wealth of events experience with administrative management of teams and projects to enhance capability. Rob will be assisted by long term HOTY committee members Pat Freeland-Small, Vic Sibilin, Belinda Goglia, Andrew Vogan and Robyn Blake to hit the ground running for the 2024 event.

“It’s not all hard work contributing to the committee, the concept of enjoyment and fun is an important part of delivering a time honoured event that is iconic in Australian rowing. There can be nothing more satisfying than playing a part in contributing to that outcome so please come along to our first planning meeting and consider being part of the Head of the Yarra team”

HOTY Meeting 7pm Tues 20th Feb - HRC Clubhouse

All members are welcome to this first meeting of 24 HOTY planning. Please come along and hear our plans for ‘24. The Bar will be open and members will have an opportunity to see if they may like to get more involved in the organisation and running of this year’s event.

Let our new Chairman Rob Perkins know if you would like to be part of the planning team.

Head of the Yarra entry will open earlier this year with crew bookings & payments from April 4th.

Call for members to assist in 24 HOTY Planning.

The annual Head of the Yarra is Hawthorn Rowing Club’s rowing showcase, an event that forms a major part of funding of our rowing programs, and helps to keep our membership fees low. As such, it is a requirement of club membership that all members are actively involved in the running of the event to ensure its continued success.

Each year, a small group of club members with a range of experience and a collective knowledge passed down through the club, meets once a month to report progress on the collective range of activities that are required to plan and manage the event.

If you have some skills in event style programs, people management, promotion, communications or commerce that you feel may assist please put your hand up to join this group and to become part of the planning team. Come along to the first planning meeting to see what our plans are and to get to know the team.
