GENERAL FLEET
This equipment is available for usage by all paid-up members of the Hawthorn Rowing Club. Members should ensure they adhere to water safety and technical ability guidelines in choosing equipment, particularly single sculls, adhering to the club’s equipment and safety policies located on the HRC website.
After use, all equipment must be washed and returned to racks. Boat and oar settings are not to be changed as this equipment is set for broad club usage.
Race Fleet
Usage of this equipment requires Captain’s permission, given to you after submission of race plans and training schedules. It is maintained for usage by HRC crews representing the club in Rowing Association regatta programmes. At times with Captain’s permission, settings and rigging might possibly be finely tuned to suit particular crew types to optimise performance.
This equipment is expensive. It is made available to competition crews who are expected to ensure high care and maintenance of this valuable club property.
Black Fleet
Captain controls all usage of this reserved boat class. This equipment is our highest performance fleet, never to be used in high river-traffic or school training times or when the likelihood of damage is elevated. Captain will approve limited race and training times for its use by specific athletes from time to time based on high-calibre representative activity for the Hawthorn Rowing Club.
