GENERAL CONDITIONS OF MEMBERSHIP
Members are entitled to use Club equipment only after demonstrating to the satisfaction of the Captain that they are able to use the equipment properly.
Members are required to help maintain the Club equipment and facilities, both by careful use during workouts and by participating in organised work sessions during the year.
Members are required to assist with the Head of the Yarra and other activities each year including working bees, maintenance, fund raising.

All members should be aware of these rules and carefully observe them before using Club Equipment. By agreeing to become a member you are also agreeing to the terms and conditions of the HRC Constitution and associated policies, in particular the Water Safety Policy, all of which are available on the HRC website. HRC adopts the Rowing Victoria Code of Conduct and requires all members to observe this code.
Any member who carelessly or negligently damages or causes to be damaged any property of the Club shall be liable for the damage sustained, but unavoidable or accidental damage may be wholly or partly borne by the Club. The Committee shall decide the question of any loss or damage being accidental.
Without limiting any waiver, any assistance rendered by the Club or any of its Officers in arranging transportation for any person is done as an accommodation, and the Club, its Officers and Members shall have no liability for the consequences of any assistance in arranging transportation. Members are free to make their own travel arrangements.
FINANCIAL OBLIGATION:
The Club year is from June 1 to May 31. Subscription fees are due on June 1 each year. Renewal notices are sent out each year.
All subscriptions must be paid in full by 30 June and a member shall be deemed unfinancial if they have not paid their full subscription by this date.
Members who want to compete must complete the Rowing Victoria Rowing Membership Application which includes an Indemnity.
A member shall not be entitled to use any club facilities or equipment (including gymnasium equipment, ergometers and boats) while they are unfinancial.
The terms of this agreement may be amended from time to time by the Committee.
Conditions of Restricted Membership are as follows:
1. Members of Surf Life Saving Clubs may become members of Hawthorn Rowing Club (“HRC”) in a category of Restricted Membership.
2. Restricted Membership allows use of HRC land-based facilities on one day of the week. This includes gym equipment, ergos. Boat usage requires Full Membership.
3. Restricted Members are encouraged to participate in Club social activities and are required to assist with the HOTY.
4. If members admitted under the Restricted category wish to row they will be required to upgrade to Full Membership.
