HRC’s Rowing Development Committee

In Season 2021/22 a Rowing Development Committee (RDC) will be convened to better facilitate representation of members rowing needs back to the committee. The RDC will aim to develop broader club participation within the RV rowing calendar as well as providing an avenue for members who want to row to intersect with other members.

Specifically we aim to:

  • Develop club-member participation in club rowing activities and represent various member interests

  • Allocate appropriate equipment for squads

  • Develop “cross-squad” crews for regatta representation

  • Consider & resolve future equipment and coaching needs

  • Decide on HRC participation in regatta calendar

  • Communicate club regatta involvement celebrate our success across the club

Aims of HRC’s Competitive Rowing Program 

The aim of HRC’s competitive rowing program is for the club to be an active and successful participant in Rowing Victoria competition.  State / National championship representation, in both Club & Masters, is the end goal of this rowing program.

 On a club level the end goal is finishing in the top ten in state club premierships.

To this end, we are committed to:

  • Ensure the quality and availability of a competitive fleet.

  • Encourage social rowers to participate in regattas supporting with access and training with experience rowers

  • Increase HRC’s emphasis on developing its young adult membership and junior member competition success

  • Support and grow Masters participation in competition.

  • Have HRC rowers obtain state selection each season

  • Have a core membership group of at least 20 male & 20 female members aspiring to these goals each season
